Re: Which would you choose?

My view is that anyone wanting to do a proper project with OUFC needs at least £25 million spare to sort out the stadium and running the club. Or else they need to factor in losing anywhere from £1million to £2million a year. Eales had his exceptional two years of player sales and cup runs, but lef...

Re: Which would you choose?

I agree with much of what Ty says (though he’s too kind to Tiger, who has been shown to be an incompetent idiot from his first press conference). But the shortness of memory being shown to the Kassam era is astonishing. It was pretty unremittingly awful (bar a couple of months under Diaz). And Kassa...

Re: Sunderland

I thought we started a bit nervily, particularly the centre backs, and it wasn't a surprise when Sunderland scored from a corner, as we weren't dealing very well with them and they'd had quite a few already. However, by that point we should have been at least 2-0 up, as the chances that fell to Ruff...

Re: Sunderland

In one of my other lives, I prowl a time trial cycling forum; one of its areas is a "Non-Cyling" area and in that area there is a "Brexit - What Now?" thread (normal threads deal with what's the best tyre pressure for a Continental GT 5000 tubular tyre with Stans anti-puncture, or how many watts sa...

Re: Sunderland

Isn’t it time we found some satire in this? There's nothing like a good bit of satire. And your opening post was nothing like a good bit of etc. I concur with Tom's opening paragraph. Just because Brexit is going to fuck the country over (and it will), there's no need to revel in the misfortune of ...

Re: January Transfer Window

Sinclair has scored 1 (one) senior goal ever. Smith has never scored a league goal. So I wouldn’t say fears entirely allayed! Lots of potential obviously, but is that what we need at the moment? Pretty sure these weren’t Robbo’s first choices, and that’s not meant as a criticism - it’s notoriously h...

Re: January Transfer Window

I think most of those criticisms of KR are fair enough. He has undoubtedly had a decent budget to work with, and didn't spend it particularly wisely. We have been unlucky with injuries, but we did take on at least two loanees with known injury problems (Holmes and Browne). We are definitely underper...

Re: You're winding me up!

Also it is not as if the costs claimed to be responsible were not foreseeable. It is poor financial management, and that is all. I think everyone’s basically making the same point here. Tiger can’t or won’t put enough money in place to make expected payments. And won’t explain the reasons behind it...

Re: Spotafan Trophy / #BTeamBoycott

So we've been dumped out of this season's version somewhat unceremoniously. Can't say I'm too disappointed - in fact I was starting to get worried that I was going to have to take the kids to Wembley again! But why on earth were we playing such a strong team when we're so light on bodies? Specifical...

Re: You're winding me up!

It's all about cashflow and a club that loses money every year unless there are significant cup runs or player sales. OK saying you pay someone £30,000, and perhaps it's £20,000 net and £10,000 to the taxman a month later. But if there is only £20,000 cash to start with, the player gets paid, and t...

Re: You're winding me up!

Surely this shows Tiger not to be a ‘fit and proper’ owner?! Can the FA do anything about this, given they must have deemed him ‘fit and proper’ in the first instance? While I despair of everything that's going on at OUFC, and distrust Tiger and his odd assortment of seemingly short-armed, long-poc...

Joking aside, best thing he can do now is front up to the media, admit to a huge mistake, lesson learned, etc and admit to some of the stick he’ll be getting right now from his teammates.
I’m sure it’s all in hand. As it were. Let’s just hope it doesn’t affect his performance(s)...

Not just twitter - it’s everywhere now. Just got mentioned as the second story on BBC 6Music’s 11.30am news bulletin! You’ve got to laugh. It could actually do Us a favour - firstly, it might cool any potential transfer interest in our best player, and it might help shine a spotlight on our HMRC woe...

Re: Robinson Out

You might ideally wish we had a different manager but I don’t think he’ll be sacked now it’s the transfer window - and would we want him to be? Once we’re safe it could be time to think about the best person to take us forward Blimey - you're optimistic. Indeed. People mithered about relegation and...

Re: Bees sting

And now it's back to the serious business of staying in League One. Maybe it's a good thing that our next fixtures look tricky, given that we seem to raise our game for the better sides (Barnsley away notwithstanding). We certainly need to get out of the losing habit... No - it's back to the stupid...
