Re: TBFUTH Awards 2013

The suggestion that Luke McCormick (our best goalkeeper of the season) might be the worst signing is so ridiculous as to make me not want to contribute to your poll. Sorry. McCormick was a success in footballing terms, So why didn't you list him in the 'most inspired signing' section then? A marked...

McCormick was a success in footballing terms, but his signing upset a lot of people and when I asked for suggestions before cr...

TBFUTH Awards 2013

Hello all. Forgive me for a slight indulgence but I did this last year and it seemed reasonably well-received so the TBFUTH Awards are back again in 2013! The polls are open now on the site and will remain so until Sunday May 19th. EDIT: RESULTS ARE NOW IN: http&#58//theboysfromupthehill&#46...

Re: John Shuker

I certainly remember John Shuker and if my memory serves me correctly (which is never a certainty) after his playing career was over he became the manager of the Pressed Steel Fisher Sports and Social Club at Romanway. In order to verify this I did a Google search (to no avail) but came across this...

John Shuker

I'm sure some of the older posters on here will remember seeing John Shuker play (I don't, I'm far too young!) so this interview might interest you. Really nice bloke and obviously still interested in OUFC after all these years. http&#58//theboysfromupthehill&#46blogspot&#46co&#46uk/...

Oxford's History of Amateur Football

Not sure if anyone will be interested, but I wrote this and thought I would share, because I'm nice like that. http&#58//theboysfromupthehill&#46blogspot&#46com/2012/06/history-of-amateur-football-in-oxford&#46html http&#58//theboysfromupthehill&#46blogspot&#46com/2012/06...

Re: Beano Transfer Saga II?

Possibly the most telling aspect of this is that the club's official statement said nothing about not wanting to sell Constable, merely that a bid has been rejected. By contrast, Bristol Rovers' statement after they turned down a bid for Carayol ended with this statement: &quotManager Mark McGhe...

Re: TBFUTH Awards

Not enough choice for 'worst loanee' award, could you please extend this category out to 11 or 12 possibles? It was quite a challenge narrowing it down to just 3! Unsurprisingly, it was the closest category in the voting, Danny Philliskirk just edged out Mehdi Kerrouche by a couple of votes. Anyway...

TBFUTH Awards

I hope you don't mind me plugging this here, but now that the season is over I thought this would be a good way to review it, through a series of polls looking at some of the defining aspects of the season. http&#58//theboysfromupthehill&#46blogspot&#46co&#46uk/2012/05/tbfuth-awards-...

The Race for the Playoffs

With 6 games to go, Southend are now 8 points clear of 8th place and Aldershot are 8 points behind 7th. That means that us, Cheltenham, Crewe and Gillingham are now fighting for the last two playoff places, so I thought I'd take a look at each side's current form and upcoming fixtures to try and get...

I think Brown has been taking his coaching badges this year and might replace Hodgy as goalkeeping coach when he retires. Crocombe will presumably be goalkeeping cover.

Anyone know of any other Oxford Uniteds around the world? I know of one in Northern Ireland and I had it in my mind that there was one in Hong Kong but can't find any mention on the internet. Any others?

Re:

Kelvin has publicly confirmed that we have reached our budget limit, therefore Wilder has not been provided with a restricted budget, but has been given access to the maximum that the club can give him under the FL rules. But was he referring OUR budget (i.e. the one that was set by the club at the...

I trawled through video highlights and match reports yesterday and came to a figure of 7 saves from 17 penalties faced. Since our promotion to the Football League Clarkey has saved 6 of the 9 penalties he has faced. http&#58//theboysfromupthehill&#46blogspot&#46com/2012/02/clarke-saviour...
