Re: Yellow Player etc

At the end of April I got an email from EFL Digital headed 'Changes to your PlayerHD account' with the explanation pasted in below. No monthly subscription was debited in May, and it resumed in June as 'EFL Digital'. I can log in from the club website as before to access iFollow, which so far appear...

Re: Sweet Caroline

As one of the exiles living far away from the dreaming spires I have only managed 3 games this year, but a 100% record of away wins (Accrington, Morecambe & Carlisle) is a wonder indeed. I felt the momentum that we built up at the tail end of last season, in particular the 3-0 at Tranmere, was ...

Re: Chest-a-field

Last season York sacked Gary Mills with ten games left to avoid relegation, and brought in Nigel Worthington, who had obviously been lined up. He managed it (just) and, after a mediocre first half of this season, see where they are now.

Re: Christophe Remy just posted this on Facebook

Posted by the Guardian football blog today, but the original article (credited at the end) is from http://that1980ssportsblog.blogspot.co.uk/ , dated February 2013. I was alerted to the Guardian link this morning by Dave Hoare's post in the OUFC Exiles Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/...

Re: Yellow Player

STOP PRESS......I have a response from Perform Group to my grizzly email last Tuesday evening. "...the issue was down to BBC Radio Oxford using the incorrect settings on their codecs". I only listened to the second half from Morecambe on Saturday, but the sound quality seemed much better.

Re: OUFC BT TV!

Will this game rival Tonbridge Angels with 57 away fans? I can't remember what the lowest ever away total match attendances are, but this could well make the top 20. Don't underestimate the hordes of OUFC exiles in the north. I recall the Sep 2009 conference fixture at Gateshead with several hundre...

Re: Have I Got Old News For You

There's a good double-page photo/text spread 'Oxford United 1986' on pp.24-25 of the current issue of When Saturday Comes. Not on the WSC website (yet?), so the best I can do is the link to the contents of the print edition: http://www.wsc.co.uk/wsc-daily/1163-june-2013/9895-wsc-317-out-now It's a g...

Re: Managerial Merry-go-round

A huge game for both clubs I think Wimbledon beat York earlier this season although
it might have been a cup game?
They met three times between 3 and 12 November:
FA Cup R1: York 1-1 Wimbledon
League: York 0-3 Wimbledon
FA Cup replay: Wimbledon 4-3 York (AET)

Re: Managerial Merry-go-round

Amazingly rapid appointment of Nigel Worthington, whose name (from memory) hasn't been mentioned in this thread, in connection with any vacancy. The club must have lined him up beforehand as a possible replacement for Gary Mills. I'm a Us' supporter above all (Headington resident 1975-2001), but liv...

Messaging not working?

Is the private message facility working? I wrote one at 20.59 on Monday 23 January (63 hours ago) and it's still sitting in the Outbox. Shouldn't it be sent instantaneously, or does someone have to do it manually? Hope someone sees this and gets my PM sent in time for the recipient to respond to me ...

Northern supporters

not had any messages through yet mate.
I've tried again, this time via the 'PM' button ... but after 18 hours it's still sitting in the Outbox so I'm not sure it's gone. So I've now also sent the same message via the 'email' button. Hope at least one of these gets through ...

Strange - I sent it last week via the 'email' button next to 'profile' and 'pm' at the bottom of the message panel. Maybe I should have used 'pm'?

I'll send another one, but not now until next week as I'm away without web access over the Christmas weekend.

There used to be a contributor on here with the handle yorkie. He wasn't the same Yorkie that used to run the George but he did live in York. That would be me then I've already posted in this thread ... I've lived in York for ten years now, but that leaves some way to go to match 25 years in Headin...
