Re: Ibrox

I turned up 20 minutes late (which is foolish for a pre-season as usually only the first half has even vague interest). Meant I got escorted into the away end by a steward though which is a first. Rangers looked a lot better than us though, as you'd expect for a team with their budget and I think if...

Re: Ibrox

I live in Glasgow, from experience I really wouldn't be worried about this, unless you're a nutter who goes looking for trouble you'd be extraordinarily unlucky to get caught up in anything to do with it.

Re: 10 is the magic number

Given the last 2 goals scored by Whyte, I can only hope Sam Ricketts serenaded Luke Waterfall with the TLC song after the game.... Don't go chasing, Luke Waterfall Please stick your head on the long ball like you're used to I know that you're gonna have it your way or nothing at all But I think you'...

Re: What a let down

I just don't see what Gobbo adds. Some seem to be happy to celebrate draws against the worst teams in the division. I'm not. With our playing budget, the very least we should expect is to be beating teams in the lower half of the table, in the majority of games, and picking up results against top h...

Blackpool

I'm not saying it was entirely down to me, but that was my first away game of the season, although I've seen a few on ifollow. It wasn't particularly entertaining and generally we've looked more threatening attacking wise in other games. Blackpool were poor and strangely it never felt that tense eve...

Re: Which would you choose?

Not much of a choice is it, a slow death of the club via Kassam, or a potentially quick death from Tiger. My major concern with Tiger is whether, I'm not sure the best way to put this, he's a bit over-optimistic and will never realise this until it's too late. As for the idea that Donald would be in...

Re: Robinson Out

This is totally irrelevant though isn't it? Robinson isn't going to be sacked, the club has no money, the owner has no money and the owner will not sack him for that reason alone. Short term financial costs are not being met, given we keep getting winding up orders, so the medium term financial cos...

Re: Robinson Out

I know we all like a pile on, but that quote doesn't really imply it's the fans fault. He also said - "The whole thing was flat. The performance did not get the fans off their feet, the performance did not keep the fans behind them. You can’t come here and say ‘it was quiet’, well you’ve got a respo...

Re: Gilly golly gosh

I was "abroad" this weekend so watched the game on ifollow, which is ok for what it is for 6 euros. It wasn't pretty and 0-0 would have been a decent reflection of the game, but on the plus side we looked solid and well organised. I can't see any great plan on how we're going to score a goal though,...

Re: Summer news

I'm not convinced the club's arguments stand up to much scrutiny. They could easily have bought the off the shelf shirts and applied the badges and embroidery themselves. Its not as if we don't have an owner with a major international clothing business, and so costs would have been tiny and sales p...

Re: Summer news

We must be due for the backlash of the backlash by now, so here goes....I never really saw what the fuss about this was. If you don't want to buy a £75 commemorative shirt, don't buy one. The justification for the decision from Matt Everett seems entirely reasonable to me.

Re: Where are they now?

Real blast from the past - Ian Atkins gets the boot from Villa https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6186057/Aston-Villa-sack-seven-members-technical-staff-Steve-Bruce-present.html I'm not convinced this is the same Ian Atkins "There had been differences of opinion during the summer ov...

Re: Coventry Blues

I don't think that's particularly fair on either of them. Unfair on Robinson as his football style isn't as one dimensional as Atkins (who never knowlingly selected a winger).

Unfair on Atkins as he was more successful with his style of football (at least temporarily).

Re: Coventry Blues

My first game of the season, albeit from the sofa. I have a few bad memories watching Oxford on the TV recently... Would agree with Dr Bob in everything he said. It looked like a 0-0 until the lucky-ish deflected goal. I wasn't at all impressed by Mitchell, his kicking was dire and he seemed indecis...
