Re: Predictions
Making predictions is a mug's game... so here goes. I don't share OY's optimism. Not one bit. Karl Robinson talks a good game, and is clearly competent, but I don't think he's as good as many fans think. He's also not (so far, at least) signed players who immediately make me think he can impr...

Predictions
I had a bad feeling ahead of last season that we wouldn't do too well. Uncertainties over Eales, Appleton leaving, several big name players departed. Despite my earlier reservations about Tiger, I'm beginning to warm to him. I suspect he is a much more careful owner than we've had for a while, but t...
Fixtures
Looks pretty good to me. Barnsley and Sunderland on Saturdays early in season. New grounds for me so minimal travelling issues and unlikely postponements. Only one midweek away game. Home on Boxing Day and 29/12. Plymouth on NYD, so again travelling is eased. Only minor quibble is neither first or l...

Re: Summer news
Best new kit in years.
They've got the yellow shade just right. I like the collar and neck line, and it looks good with the lion on too.

Re: OUFC Women
Looks to me like the club are cutting their cloth accordingly & trying to live within it's means. However, this is clearly a very sensitive subject. We as a football club, should absolutely have a Women's established first team. The pathway must exist for local girls to have a route into footba...

Re: OUFC Women
Presumably you would prefer to see amateur teams playing fully professional teams under a mis-guided interpretation of pyramid structure. Yes! If those professional teams are good enough to beat the semi-pro teams (there are no 'amateur' teams in the WSL) then they can earn promotion. This is not a...

Re: OUFC Women
All WSL clubs were given the opportunity to join the new structure before any outside clubs were even able to apply to join, and all clubs that met the requirements of professional standards for the new structure, were guaranteed their place. So no franchising at the expense of anyone. The issue fo...

Re: OUFC Women
The FA have turned the women's game into a franchise operation, for one year, to let a couple of "big clubs" that have up to now not supported the WSL, buy their way into the top divisions. Next year, of course, the plan is to revert to the pyramid structure, pulling up the drawbridge. It...

OUFC Women

Contrary to the club's statement, this sends out a very bad message of lack of investment, in what will be a huge growth area in the wider game.
Not good news.
If Lewes can do it, only a dis-interested owner prevents OUFC doing it.

Re: Retained list
Well, Eastwood has signed a three-year deal , so you can update your records OR! Fantastic news, IMHO. There aren't many better 'keepers in this division. I'm pleasantly surprised as I thought he'd be gone by August. There were plenty of rumours about him being unhappy under Clotet (which Eastwood ...
