Re: Which would you choose?

I think Myles raises a good point and which represents an ideal position that we would no doubt all like to see.

Unfortunately, it does not recognise the practical realities of the cost and infrastructure required to own and run a stadium.

Re: Which would you choose?

I suspect DE selling to Tiger had nothing to do with willy waving or politics, but was simply down to how much money DE got out of it. It is clear to me that Tiger’s due diligence on takeover was very unsatisfactory, and missed the arbitration risks. The only alternative argument for the lack of cas...

Re: Which would you choose?

The problem I have with Tiger, is that he asset stripped Reading and then ran off with the money. The one aspect about Kassam, and this is very much a moot point in my head, let alone on these pages, is that whilst he asset stripped the club, he has remained on the scene, claiming to not wish to sel...

Which would you choose?

A: Staying at the Kassam Stadium, with Kassam as owner of both club and stadium, given Kassam’s history with the club

Or

B: Moving to a new stadium, with Tiger as owner of both club and stadium, given Tiger’s history with Reading

I’ve enabled the option to change your mind after voting

Re: Robinson Out

This is totally irrelevant though isn't it? Robinson isn't going to be sacked, the club has no money, the owner has no money and the owner will not sack him for that reason alone. Short term financial costs are not being met, given we keep getting winding up orders, so the medium term financial cos...

Re: Robinson Out

Our 'goals for' is actually OK, we've scored more than Coventry and Blackpool. You could argue that our fragility at the back is a greater problem. Whichever way you look at it, we are consistently failing to benefit from good approach play and periods of dominance. We weren't terrible against Posh...

I have no confidence in the Chairman.

These things are easy to resolve. Just pay your bloody bills on time.

Re: Sunderland

So, a bit like pro-hard Brexit supporters, who believe the country can surge forward, freed from the EUs shackles, because we are Great Britain and we can have our cake and eat it... There you go, fits my description perfectly... I'm only surprised you didn't mention the side of a bus, racism, and ...

who thinks that development of the brand in Asia would be easy because the city is world famous. Setting targets like that in public is just setting up the club to fail. Re: Sunderland

I'm not going to continue the Brexit element on here as so much predictionist rubbish is spouted about what "will" happen post 29 March and I can see tiny elements already creeping into comments on this thread. It seems almost impossible to have a grown up discussion anywhere on the subjec...

Re: Sunderland

OY - that's fair enough, but I think recordmeister's point (and he'll doubtless correct me if I'm misrepresenting it) was that those who voted for Brexit and find that there are reduced employment prospects in their region as a result will be reaping what they have sown. My point is that there are ...

Re: Sunderland

I know it's only intended to be a bit of humorous banter, but I find some of the above comments a bit distasteful, not to mention inaccurate. The Qashqai development is being moved to Japan primarily because of lack of desire for diesel vehicles in Europe, but popularity in Asia. No one is losing jo...

Re: January Transfer Window

That's a very big step up from Jonte Smith, who at 24 should probably have made it by now with his scoring record. I wonder why he hasn't previously been snapped up at least by a Conference club. Good luck to the lad, and he clearly knows where the goal is, but it remains to be seen if he'll have th...

Re: January Transfer Window

Gobbo said that the player he was going for would be the highest paid player ever at Oxford. That Tiger has gone all out with the money to bring in a striker. If that is Jerome Sinclair on loan from Watford, OUFC recruitment department all need firing. After moving from Liverpool to Watford nearly 3...
