Re: Chaos

In situations like Saturday, it might well be helpful if the ref had a mike linked to the PA system, like in egg chasing, so the crowd also new what was happening.

Re: Chaos

Awful performance in front of goal, with too many players off-form, not passing, and generally failing to hit a cow's arse with a banjo - but what a superb bit of control and volley from Mackie. Ignoring everything else, that was a quite brilliant goal - even more so given the time and context of t...

Re: What a let down

I just don't see what Gobbo adds. Some seem to be happy to celebrate draws against the worst teams in the division. I'm not. With our playing budget, the very least we should expect is to be beating teams in the lower half of the table, in the majority of games, and picking up results against top ha...

What a let down

On the official site Gobbo is quoted as saying

“Our performances haven’t let the fans down this season .."

Oh really? That's not how I've seen it.

La grande coupe d'Oxfordshire

At times the U23 side looked decent, playing incisive passing football, but a bit like the first team, that lasted about 20 minutes. They played a very similar formation to the first team, with just 1 striker (Jonte Smith) up top. Once City began pressing high and closing down from the front, the sa...

You have a good, well connected source? Or several people repeating the same rumour?

Tiger sales

A strong rumour doing the rounds on Saturday was that Tiger will be selling up to Thohir this summer.

Re: Which would you choose?

My view is that anyone wanting to do a proper project with OUFC needs at least £25 million spare to sort out the stadium and running the club. Or else they need to factor in losing anywhere from £1million to £2million a year. Eales had his exceptional two years of player sales and cup runs, but lef...

Re: Which would you choose?

Not much of a choice is it, a slow death of the club via Kassam, or a potentially quick death from Tiger. My major concern with Tiger is whether, I'm not sure the best way to put this, he's a bit over-optimistic and will never realise this until it's too late. As for the idea that Donald would be i...

Re: Which would you choose?

The current winding-up petition relates to a previous owner's debts to the stadium company, which themselves resulted from the compounding of inherited debt. . The debt is that of the club, not of the shareholders. That's why companies are called limited. It means limited liability of the sharehold...

Without intending to sound rude, that is the type of lack of understanding of corporate ownership normally reserved for Yellow...

Re: Which would you choose?

Unfortunately, it does not recognise the practical realities of the cost and infrastructure required to own and run a stadium. And this is why I think the KasStad is a dead duck in terms or providing a sustainable future for OUFC. If someone somehow managed to take control of the stadium, it simply...

Re: Which would you choose?

The problem I have with Tiger, is that he asset stripped Reading and then ran off with the money. Not sure how he could do that to us, though... Well if Tiger were in a position to buy the existing stadium, or build a new stadium, he could easily retain the assets himself, whilst enforcing high ren...
