It is more than a bit worrying with a chairman who has no experience of running a football club is secretive about the club's ownership and prepared to be economical with the truth about his past and appears to have screwed up the stadium rental deal with Kassam in a big way. What chance of him stic...

I suppose it all depends how the deal between the club and stad co was put together. It may be that the club gets a reduction in rent to compensate for advertising revenue that goes to the stad co. but I doubt it as it seems the deal for the club without the stadium was done in a hurry. For some spo...

Is it possible for a player to &quotbe being released&quot? I would have thought that either you are released or you aren't and there's no half way state of being released. I think what the usually grammatically correct boris meant was: He wouldn't have been released by Brentford. Personally...

I very perceptive and acurate summary of the situation I'd say. As to what motivated Murray's stance against Kassam, we'll probably never know the full story but Jim Rosenthal boasted on more than one occasion how he could get his mates at &quothis old shop&quot to help in with a PR battle a...

My guess is that Merry and his backer(s) simply haven't got the money to buy the stadium. They were bounced into buying the club without the stadium because of Kassam appointing Bill &amp Bren and although they have an option to buy should anybody else come along and show interest they aren't ab...

Disagree. Kassam was 500% worse than Herd. Ask the staff. I don't think the question was about who was the nicest bloke to have around the place. Herd took the club to the brink of extinction and then walked away. The debt was the highest of any football club in the country at the time. I'm sure Ka...

Re:

Don't be daft Resurrection. Robin Herd had a good go too, which is surely what Mally is getting at. Exactly - If it wasn't for Herd and Cox's complete cock up then Kassam would never have come near the club. I know its unpopular with those that want to re-write history but its also true that withou...

One correction Snake - He didn't pay £2m over the odds for the club. The £2m was to clear the debts on the club owed to Kassam/other Firoka group companies. The club itself cost the usual quid. On the wider issue I'll be supporting the team and the club 100% as usual but will also be pushing OxVox e...

I agree I think there should be a cash option on the turnstile certainly for parts of the ground where there is plenty of room for people to move around and you can have a stack of tickets reserved for cash at every game. I don't think any of the arguments against it really stand up to much scrutiny...

You could be right about that (wating for Kassam to take us down) SuperOx but I think Merry was worried that Bill &amp Bren were being lined up for a rival takeover and that was what made them dive in and do the deal without the stadium. I think their biggest mistake was removing Patto after the...

Re:

Indeed, and the majority, if not all (assuming we sell around 1500), of the season ticket sales will be spent on the Stadium rent for the year. And we know who’s pocket that goes into! I think we'll sell more than that and according to Merry's meeting with OxVox there was provision in the rental ag...

Re: mally

Why did you not do your homework before posting that? That was very Jon Murray like. As Neil says: it was lazy of you to average out the prices before obtaining the facts. You seized on this and tried to make capital out of it. As your such a keen reader of TIU, I am surprised,as there has been ple...

Re: Mallinson

I simply cannot believe that Mallinson thought there were only 21 home league games! Where has this guy been? What an idiotic posting from someone habitually looking for negatives in every facet of Merry &amp Co.'s management. Very sad and pathetic. 1. I wasn't aware that the conference was bei...
