Signings

In case you've missed it Quinn has re-signed and another hero returns - The long rumoured re-signing of Phil Gilchrist has finally happened. Apparently Gilly was on the same sort of deal at Rotherham as Bradbury was with us which meant he only played a certian number of games up until they would hav...

i was amazed by the seemingly bizarre tirade he launched at marcel desailly during one panel discussion. anyone else see that? what the hell was that about? It seems to be a recurring Martin O'Neil theme - I remember him lauching into similar attacks of other pundits at previous tournaments. He is ...

Its a shame for Patterson but I bet he's the best paid youth team manager outside the top 2 divisions. Its a case of new brooms I think but the fact that he was given a managers contract days before the takeover means they can't really afford to get rid of him. Could be a case for constructive dismi...

New Staff

New commercial manager, new chief scout and a fitness coach. All these appointments are to be applauded, particularly as the fitness coach and chief scout are completely new roles, but can we have some players soon please? I know that there's plenty out there and there's still time before the start ...

Unfortunately beause the wonderful English press (and increasingly the broadcast media) would have turned the World Cup campaign into a guess the manager blood lust feeding frenzy if it hadn't been sorted out.

By the way, is anyone on here planning to go and see Elton on Saturday, and where are you parking your car?
On my drive. 18 year old daugters with cars were invented for just such occasions - Payback time.

i believe the banjo and donkey's backside that was delivered to milton's ground was for this purpose.
Unfortunately Sven has asked for the Banjo and a selection of farm animal rear ends to be sent out to German to help Peter Crouch and Frank Lampard.

I know its not quite the same level of misery as Oxford fans have had to endure but it must be pretty bad being a Wycombe fan these days. In a nailed on automatic promotion place all season until the last couple of months when you go into meltdown. You just hang on to the play off spot only to lose ...

His intentions may have been good but he didn't have a clue, despite repeated calls from all and sundry to sort out (or at least look into) scouting, overnight stays, training facilities and the rest, he just ignored it all and showed no signs of ever learning, or particularly caring that he kept g...

I mentioned the stadium investment because Guest asked about it and also its part of the equation and the reason that we were about to go under in 1999. The £2 million loans to the club were nothing to do with the CVA and were put into the club because it spent that much more than it earned. I don't...

I'm not sure what people mean when they talk about investment then. I have never expected or known an owner of Oxford United to give money to the club that they don't expect to get back with interest or some sort of profit. Isn't that how our capitalist free market society functions? Investment to m...

Totally agree about getting rid of Atkins. Allowing things to get to that situation was a major mistake. I think its inaccurate to blame Kassam for lack of investment. On the playing side managers came in and spent the available budget up to the wages cap on the players they wanted. Every manager we...

I can't see why Kassam would want to hang on to the stadium company any longer than he has to. Its bound to be a major headache having to deal with a single tennant like OUFC. Any additional revenue from concerts etc can easily be factored into a deal. As I've said elsewhere I think the most likely ...

a demonstration from the Oxford fans that might have negatively impacted his other businesses and he was off, after all. I think you'd have a job proving a causal link there. From what I understand from people much closer to the deal than me Kassam decided he wanted to do the deal when first approa...
