Excellent thread. Agree with you all. I'm feeling unusually positive. But I do feel we need to pick a 'robust' team initially, to counteract the inevitable rough stuff that Ainsworth will no doubt encourage his team to dish out.
This could mean Bowery in the starting line up......

Re: Exeter City 1-4 Oxford Utd
I agree. I wondered whether we could have been a bit more ruthless, particularly when 4-0 up. in addition I suspect that 3 substitutions in a fairly short space of time might have upset the rhythm and contributed to a slightly shaky spell in the last 20 minutes or so. It was indeed a good day all ro...
Re: Noton
We'll have to agree to differ.
Appleton hadn't been picking him, rightly in my view. If he fits Northampton's style then good luck to him but I wouldn't swop him for eg Lundstram for all the tea in China.

Re: Noton
Danny Rose will get his comeuppance in May. Wilder has his faults but he is not stupid and he will see Rose for what he is - a League 2 squad player at best. He won't cut it in League 1 so will be looking for a club.

Andy Crosby.
Or possibly Paul Moody.

Re: New pitch
How are we going to solve our goalscoring problem without any goals ? Doesn't anyone at the club know anything about the game ?

Re: OK Computer
Long shot, but is anyone able to help me with a 'Child's Guide to importing OUFC 2015/16 fixtures into a Google calendar running on an Android device' ? I mean - writing 'Luton (a)' on the calendar hanging on the kitchen wall works ok, but not if you are where the calendar isn't. Thanks in anticipat...

Given :
1 - his local connections and
2 - the performance of their keeper in the Conference playoff final on Sunday...
....then I wouldn't be at all surprised if Clarkey went to Bristol Rovers.

Re: Happy Milk Cup Day....!
The memories have outlived the Quarry Gate, where I celebrated long into the night. The QG is now an empty space. Worth remembering that 1986 was before 'flexible licensing hours' - I recall lurching out of the pub quite late (with Mrs AW and my Dad) and saw a Police car outside : with all the digni...

I would have said the worst since Bill Asprey.

Just go. You can't do this job. You can't inspire, motivate or lead. You regard tiny achievements such as the occasional clean sheet as major turning points. You fritter money away on players like a small child might in a sweet shop having found a tenner in the street. You marginalise players like D...

Excellent post by YF Dan.
Overoptimistic reply from 'Eric Pollard'.
Reminiscent of Emperor Hirohito in his broadcast to the Japanese people in August 1945 - "The war situation has developed, not necessarily to our advantage.".

Re: This is Fucking Shit.
Appleton hasn't got a clue. Examples : - he thought George Long was better than Max Crowcombe - he has brought players in and got rid of them within a very short period of time (Jakubiak, Morris, Brown) - somehow, he considers Dunkley to be a better player than Raynes He stands motionless in his tec...
