Re: Stadium (again) - fans forum

Well it will be depressing, and possibly put the club back years if not terminally into a 'small club' if this all turns out to be a property play, which Tiger has form for, and also the other new directors. How quickly the player trading and attractive football model fell apart, presumably once it ...

Re: Stadium (again) - fans forum

https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/sport/16968271.oxford-university-now-looking-after-kassam-stadium-pitch/ So we now have the University back maintaining the pitch at the stadium. There are hints at the stadium dispute between OUFC and Stadco, but no real clues. It seems odd to change mid-season, perhaps...

Re: Oxford Cty

Ty - just to reiterate, I wasn't having a pop. It's just interesting that Oxford City look set be a beneficiary of his largesse for many years to come whereas we could soon conceivably be in the same division as we were when he took over, still without a ground of our own and still not in a sustain...

As posted elsewhere, we look like needing 15 wins from 34 games to reach 50 points and "safety".

Re: Robinson Out

A lot does seem to be the lack of recruitment in the Summer. How much was this down to perhaps Tiger not providing the cash for signings? Robinson hinted as much by playing Shaun Derry in one of the Ireland games, he might as well have put a banner up saying "our recruitment is so slow that I am hav...

Re: Robinson Out

Wasn’t there another instalment due to Eales last weekend ? Anyway. If you sell a club knowing there are transfer fees or parachute payments coming in, then you build that into the price and make sure you get paid for those “guaranteed payments” If there are players that you could have sold but didn...

Re: Where are they now?

Ramon Diaz appointed Paraguay coach. http://www.themalaymailonline.com/sports/article/argentine-ramon-diaz-named-paraguay-coach And appoints his son Emiliano to the back-room staff! Apparently he resigned from the Paraguay job in June. Diaz was coach at Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad but has just be...

Re: Stadium (again) - fans forum

I don't have a problem with owners who want to make money from the club by getting it promoted a few divisions and becoming a more attractive buy to the next owner. I think where Kassam is very wary is that another stadium owner makes money from the stadium that he could do, for short term gain. Las...

Re: Stadium (again) - fans forum

I'd add that Tiger's past at Reading included taking ownership of the land / facilities around the club into separate companies, and that business model is one that various club owners seek to repeat. How can you stop an owner doing what he likes with the assets of the club, even if it builds a stad...

Re: Stadium (again) - fans forum

It's a shame our old friend Snake isn't here to comment. I remember he or Myles had pointed out that somewhere in the licence (not rent) agreement is I think a minimum 5% increase each year. Back in 2006 when UK base rates were 4.5%, that probably didn't seem too bad, but in a low inflation and low ...
