Re: Fylde under big week

As usual, Avanti West Coast were conspiring to make this an awkward weekend of travel. The 10:30 from Euston to Glasgow had already been cancelled, so the 9:30 we were on was extra busy, and was only nine carriages instead of 11. Pompey fans were also on this train to Carlisle. So about 2/3 of the w...

Re: outcobbled, a short canvas, rammed, and not addicked

After the Wombles game, is Ed McG now our only remaining senior keeper for Saturday? Oh and I have heard today that Notts County fans are saying Luke Williams wants to take Ruben to Swansea. Then again, my colleague said that recently, the Notts rumour mill has been on hyperdrive, so there may be a...

Re: outcobbled, a short canvas, rammed, and not addicked

It's been said before, but I think that Manning leaving us when we were in second place was a bit of a false position. When looking at expected goals or whatever the current favoured statistic is, we had scored more than we should have and had more points. Perhaps more worrying is that we haven't re...

outcobbled, a short canvas, rammed, and not addicked

That was an interesting four games over the Christmas and New Year period. Much online rumbling about whether Des Buckingham is the right man for the job. Northampton on the Saturday before Christmas. A well attended match which is easy for me to get to, and not too far to walk from the station / Th...

Re: Completely bazooka'd

Saturday was an interesting day for trains. My planned train to Reading was cancelled, so I had a choice of catch the next one with only seven minutes to change, or get to Reading with an hour and seven minutes. Meanwhile problems outside Paddington meant trains subject to cancellation and delays. L...

Re: Liam Managing

No idea how accurate this is, but according to the other site, the club had a relegation get-out clause for Manning last season, and then he was on a rolling one year. Once BCFC came sniffing, was it too late to try and offer him a better contract? If so, not surprising he took a move up a league. S...

Re: Liam Managing

Well I hadn't expected Manning to jump ship quite so soon into his time with us. About eight months? OK he has us up at the top of the table, but obviously he must tick all the right boxes for what Bristol City are looking for. But normally I'd expect a club to want to see a season or two track reco...

Re: WigPool

Apart from Pompey drawing, results last night weren't in our favour, with Barnsley, Bolton, Peterborough and Blackpool all winning. Add in Derby and Lincoln, and that's six of the current top nine teams winning, two drawing, and only us losing. After getting excited about our top two position with a...

Re: Rovers

Only four games in League 1 at the weekend.
Blackpool and Orient picking up a bit of form with wins.
Stevenage lost.

Blackpool likely to be up there or abouts at end of season, let's hope we don't get overwhelmed like in the play-offs a few years back.

Re: Rovers

Good to get a win against Rovers and a decent crowd from them for a 12:30 kick-off. Are they the team we have played most in the last 10 years or so? Possibly Shrewsbury or Portsmouth. Our two sendings off were disappointing, but luckily they aren't players in our starting 11. Some of our missed cha...
