Re: Spotafan Trophy 2017-18 / #BTeamBoycott
I struggle to make midweek matches, so ignoring this tournament is fairly easy for me. The primary stated reason for including U21 teams in the competition, to help develop youth players, is undermined by allowing older first team players t sneak in (for example Zouma and Van Ginkel played against O...

Re: Appleton IN
It had gone rather quiet, but The Telegraph is now reporting that the two clubs are talking and the deal is likely to be confirmed by 2pm on Tuesday:

Re: (Comings and) goings
I feel that this is the wrong time for a takeover. The club is still moving in an upwards direction. Even if the rumoured tightening of the purse strings results in a playing budget that is lower for 17/18 than 16/17, this does not prevent the squad being strengthened and league and cup performances...

Re: Managerial Merry-go-round
And another vacancy emerges:

I'm surprised that you can 'sack' a caretaker manager, as they are only temporary anyway. Surely they just revert back to their old job, like Mad Dog? Then again, this is Newcastle United, so actually I'm not surprised.

Re: End of season
After the chaos of the close-season to 2014/15, I was expecting OUFC to be involved in a relegation scrap all season. The fact that we managed to gradually claw our way out of trouble as the season progressed to end up in a mid-table position was for me something of a pleasant surprise. Overall, I g...
Re: New pitch
If London Welsh continue to churn up the pitch next season, I won't be the least bit surprised if it still resembles a mud-bath by winter.

Re: Oh goodie, another striker!
Does anyone know how the players used list for the first team compares with other seasons? I've never known a season like it especially as half the players brought in have been either not used at all or discarded after a couple of games. All the answers here, of course! http://www.rageonline.co.uk/...

Re: Mansfield at home.
A bundle of nerves all over the park, a complete inability to keep the ball, Collins and Ruffles beaten to everything in the middle, Long being ripped to shreds at left back. I wondered whether the big build-up to this 'crucial', 'massive' game (which of course it was) had had the complete opposite...

Re: Mansfield at home.
the difference for me was that this was a game where we converted dominance into goals, and made the game comfortable. macdonald may have got man of the match, but i think mullins is in with a good shout of that for his work in that half hour period where the game was even and a real scrap. but onc...

Re: Mansfield at home.
I am puzzled by the criticism of Hoban for not scoring, when his hold-up play and distribution is exactly what we have been lacking for so long. I also agree that Collins had an excellent game - Whing-like in breaking up attacks, but with more mobility and better skill in the passing. Clearly McDon...
