Re: Safety in numbers

I’m just incredibly relieved. And I wish I’d put my money on Wycombe to go down...

Re: Chaos

A foul is only a foul if the ref sees it, and gives it. You’re not out in cricket if the Umpire doesn’t give you out. Even if your stumps fly out of the ground. The same is true in football: it only happens (or doesn’t happen) if the ref says so. He said ‘goal’ and so a goal it is. The ayes have it....

Re: Why are the bookies so confident...

I’m quite liking the 25-1 odds on free falling WWFC who play Sunderland next, and are not in a good way at all...

Re: You're winding me up!

Isn’t the winding up order from Kassam due to be heard today?

Re: Which would you choose?

For me the big issue is with DE. Why on earth didn’t he sell to Stewart Donald (willy-wanging politics, apparently) which has taken the club from a solid and stable (ish) position to where it is today. What an awful decision from DE, who in his own way, asset stripped the club of future player sales...

Re: Robinson Out

No! Stop moaning! It’s got nothing to do with KR. It’s all our fault:

Re: Sunderland

In one of my other lives, I prowl a time trial cycling forum; one of its areas is a "Non-Cyling" area and in that area there is a "Brexit - What Now?" thread (normal threads deal with what's the best tyre pressure for a Continental GT 5000 tubular tyre with Stans anti-puncture, or how many watts sa...

Re: Sunderland

Dyson and his moral vacuum cleaner for a start. Well, with Dyson basing his UK business in Wilshire, I'm sure I could find some 'banter' about this should Sat be a visit from Slumdon, not from Sunderland. Anyway, it seems my point - making a visiting team seem as unwelcome as possible for the 90 mi...

Re: Sunderland

Adjusted my post to focus away from employment or otherwise, to refocus on what I was really aiming at: Sunderland returning the first Leave majority of any part of the UK, as that is the main cut-and-thrust of my point... look at the turmoil we have around us. I’ve heard people who voted Leave clai...

Anyone make banners? If so, given their 60%+ vote for Leave, can someone do a ‘Welcome to the Special Place’ banner to welcome the Sunderland fans on Saturday?

Re: January Transfer Window

Meanwhile... on the ‘other side of the fence’ in ‘what could have been Land’ Sunderland’s Oxford United supporting owners sell a player for £3m and bring in a another for £4m. “Grigg, 27, has won promotion from League One three times and scored 17 goals in the third tier as Wigan went up to the Cham...

Re: You're winding me up!

I go back to my previous point here: If Tiger A) found unforeseen costs, then he didn’t do his due diligence properly And/or B) hasn’t account for VAT (and I run my own business and know that the + Vat bit of any invoice isn’t mine) both of which endanger the jobs of staff at the club and the busine...

Re: You're winding me up!

Of course a business plan isn’t as simple as a post on a football forum; goodness knows what’s in Tigers plans long term and how he plans to add value to this investment. But a new stadium near, say, the new Oxford Parkway railway station would be a winner for additional development in and around th...

Re: You're winding me up!

I don’t think it’s in FK’s interests to sell to anyone. The land the stadium is on is ripe for housing; nothing would give him more pleasure than to see us move home and break the covenant on the ground, so he can petition to build housing there. We end up with a new ground towit Tiger owns. He sell...
