Re: Summer transfers 2019

Wonder if that means we've given up on signing Kashi?

Re: LEAGUE ONE 2019-2020

Accrington is the only* one I've not been to - was going to go this time, but their presence in the fourth round of the FA Cup put paid to that. (As it did with Wigan the previous season - it's like a conspiracy!)

* Not counting Franchise, obviously!

Re: Chris Wilder

Only just seen this recent(ish) post from OxBlogger after Wilder gained promotion to the top flight. A good read.

Re: Summer transfers 2019

I think he's a *left* back, who will provide potential back-up to Ruffels?

Chris Wilder

Congratulations to Chris Wilder, who has just achieved the "full set" of promotions (5 -> 4 with Oxford, 4 -> 3 with Northampton, and 3 -> 2-> 1 with Sheffield Utd). One of my all-time favourite Oxford managers, and one who was sadly undervalued by many of our fans at the end. Who knows what Wilder ...

Re: Sent to Coventry

Yeah, indeed - there's no way I'm counting any chickens just yet, whatever the form table might say.

Re: Sent to Coventry

Actually we're 7th on form over the last 25 games. Amazing really. https://www.flashscore.com/standings/zZrqwoEl/zF8bonDg/#form;overall;25 Funny how psychologically it seems we've been poor and struggling for ages, when actually it was our extremely poor start that has always been the problem, and i...

Chaos

Well, I've never seen scenes like that in a football game. I'm still not entirely sure what went on. Was there supposedly a penalty for a foul before Bradford's point blank miss? A mis-taken goal kick? Who knows. The referee didn't exactly cover himself in glory, but hey Mackie's goal stood, and tha...

Re: What a let down

I'm no Robbo fan, but I suspect he's unlikely to go now, and also that it's too late (and almost certainly too much of an upheaval at this stage) to try to get in someone else this season now. So my main hope is that we somehow stay up, and then change manager in the summer. And I'd like a Ferrari ...

Re: Why are the bookies so confident...

I guess maybe the secret is indeed in the closeness of the table? There are so many sides that could go down that the chances of any one of them going down are lower than you'd think. 538 have us as favourites in 5 of our last 11 fixtures (i.e. our chances of winning the game are seen as higher than...

Why are the bookies so confident...

... in our ability to stay up? Yes, we've won two on the trot, and I'm feeling a lot happier now, but we're still only two points off the drop zone, and extremely inconsistent (and often poor against our direct rivals for relegation). Yet the bookies have us at around 11/2 or so to be relegated (htt...

Re: Which would you choose?

I agree with much of what Ty says (though he’s too kind to Tiger, who has been shown to be an incompetent idiot from his first press conference). But the shortness of memory being shown to the Kassam era is astonishing. It was pretty unremittingly awful (bar a couple of months under Diaz). And Kass...

Re: Sunderland

I actually really enjoyed the game (despite the referee, who seemed to spend the first half giving every decision Sunderland's way, and the second half giving everything our way). Sunderland are a decent side, but we played really well, and even when we were 1-0 down the performance was giving me ho...
