Re: Robinson Out

Is Appleton in a job yet? If not, can we lure him back?

Play-offs? I'll still be happy with 20th tbh. I'm much more worried about the teams below us.
I wouldn't just be "happy", I'd now bite your hand off if offered 20th at the end of the season.

Honest question: has it ever?
Dean Windass? Arguably more than just a striker, but still.

Re: Rocharolla

Yeah, recent form has been good, but it has mainly been against fellow struggling sides. Can't complain, but it'll be interesting to see how we do in the more difficult three match sequence that is almost upon us (Peterborough, Blackpool, Doncaster - all in the top 8 ).

Re: Gas

That was certainly a "game of two halves". We were well on top in the first half, but couldn't cope with their formation (and personnel) change in the second half, and had to dig very deep indeed - and ride our luck - to escape with a draw. Still if we can get a draw from that kind of match, there's...

Re: Robinson Out

Yeah, that was dreadful. One might think Oxford were unlucky to concede such a late goal, but - no - Luton should have won that match several times over. We were utterly bereft of ideas, and beaten all over the park.

Re: Accy thump

Why is everyone so obsessed with Michael Appleton? Probably because, for anyone under 30, he’s the most successful manager we’ve had in their lifetime. Those of us under 40 could make a case for Denis “Next England Manager” Smith (Out), but even to us Appleton probably tops the list given the quali...

Re: Accy thump

I’m still of my view that any manager deserves ten league games of the season to prove his or her worth. But in the modern era, that’s probably a minority view. Can KR hold on? Should he? For how long? I'm definitely generally of that view too. And this is a similar start to the first season under ...

Bottom half, I reckon. Hopefully in the upper half of that half, but I'm not feeling too confident.

Re: Retained list

Sam Long is an odd one - I'm not really sure he has done enough to justify a contract, but I guess he's on a fairly low wage for the division.

Re: Going Down??

Well, it seems in the end that 51 points proved enough. Glad Rochdale stayed up - I've enjoyed both my visits there, and they always seemed an especially friendly club. And I also recall that Oldham were one of the proponents of the Premier League way back when. How's that working out for them, I wo...
