Re: Bolton

My view is we should have solidarity with the fans of clubs such as Bury and Bolton. Owners treating the clubs as virtual footballs to be kicked about as they please are bad for the game as a whole. I remember with pride the days of Fans United when fans got together for clubs such as Brighton, Donc...

Bang on signings.

I can now see us getting near to the play offs.
If near means within about ten places of them, I concur. Sorry - just got home from watching Burton run us ragged.

Burton...

... showed us how to play effective football tonight. While we passed it about oh-so-nicely in areas that didn't matter, they drove straight at goal each time they got the ball, and could have won by more tbh. A very well organised side that plays decent football and makes the most of their possessi...

Two free tickets for Peterborough in the League Cup

I entered an Oxford Mail competition to win tickets for tomorrow night's game, heard nothing (supposedly they would inform winners by end of last week), and thus bought my own ticket at the weekend. Late this afternoon I got an email saying I'd won 2 free tickets for the game, to be collected at the...

Re: Where will we finish 2019/20?

I'll go with 12th again as well. Seems a common prediction (and it's where we are after one game too!)

Re: Summer transfers 2019

Supposedly Chris Cadden was seen in the crowd at the QPR game - no idea of the veracity of this.

Re: Ched Evans

I also think that fans have every right to voice their fears over signing players that they consider to be extremely morally dubious. This is not someone trying to get a job at a local supermarket, this is someone representing the club and city, whose name could well be chanted by thousands. If fans...

Re: Ched Evans

I suggest anyone who really would rather Evans didn't come to Oxford contact the club and make their views known. It might well not have much effect, but you never know. (I dropped them an email, though wasn't sure which address best to use, so goodness knows...!)

Re: Ched Evans

I've been depressing myself by reading more accounts of the case, and its aftermath. It's bloody appalling. Many societies have had discrimination against women codifed in law, and we're not clear of that situation yet. https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/ched-evans-footballer-rape-trial-acquitted-...

Re: Ched Evans

And, of course, legal decisions can be morally wrong. That's why people campaign to get such laws changed. A specific modern day example being this idea that a woman's sexual history should count against her in rape cases.
