Is there any realistic chance of us bringing in a decent, experienced and crucially unattached centre-half by the weekend? It all feels a bit dicey.
I thought KR kept a space open in our 22 to bring in another attacker...

Re: Rock Steady Crewe

Having messed up big time first time around, they then managed to play on Saturday before something once again going badly wrong, presumably either with their own Covid protocols or with individual players' actions. The trouble is, can we really expect the EFL to take anything like adequate action t...

Re: Crewe-perbole

My understanding is that Crewe knew about the positive test before travelling. When they arrived at the ground, despite knowing about that positive test, several of their team entered the stadium and worse still, entered our dressing room. If those are indeed the correct facts, I can well see why s...

Re: Crewe-perbole

Yes, but... I understand that the EFL will review the circumstances because that is what they do with ALL postponed matches. But it does appear that Crewe came to the stadium and seemingly wanted to play the game even though one of their players had received a positive test prior to them leaving the...

Trouble with a drunk coach

How very 2020 this story was. Just relieved that their scheduled departure from the hotel to the ground was early enough for an alternative to be found. Thanks to major buffering issues with iPlayer, I only joined the game about 25 minutes in, but from what I saw it looked straight away like the pla...

Re: L'éléphant dans la pièce

If I keep up current practice, I shall see a lot more Oxford matches this year because I am paying for away matches as well as watching the home matches through my ST. And not having a 212 mile round trip for home games helps (savings on petrol are three times spending on away match passes), but I d...

Re: Les Chat Noir

And we kept being told that players were now in their preferred positions. Heavens help us if that is the case. And as for defending set pieces... I had to keep reminding myself that it really was too early in the season to hit the panic button, but individually and collectively, KR really does not ...

Re: Implosion!

I thought a straight red was absurdly harsh. That said, as soon as I heard the club was going to appeal I reckoned the straight red would be a blessing in disguise. That could be appealed whereas a second yellow (he definitely had been booked earlier), which would have been appropriate, could not - ...

Re: New kit

Waiting for the away kit design. Home kit is nothing special. Slightly odd to have an away kit that won’t be suitable to wear against most opponents that our home kit would clash with! My thought as well. But I seem to recall hearing that we were going to have three kits this season. If so, this co...

Re: Dickie Heads

KY - your first point is more or less exactly what the RadOx guys said during the QPR game. With the fee undisclosed, I assume we shall not hear either about all of the possible add-ons. I have seen the Palace game, the second half of the QPR game and as much of the Brentford game just now as their ...

Re: Onwards and hopefully upwards

That is a longer list than I was expecting. I assume departures are likely either to be for money or 'by mutual consent', the latter possibly as part of a deliberate squad restructure. So who do people expect to depart? Are there any people here who we should actively seek to offload? I was just abo...

Re: M40

I am not sure we would have kept all of our key assets even had we gone up, because of the wage offers that other Championship clubs could make. I very much agree with KE that (especially after the last few months) getting financial stability back into the club will be key for our long term future. ...

Re: M40

Damn you all. I was feeling fine until I read this thread. It has been an incredible season, whatever happens. The clash of styles is so great: https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/sport/18578596.oxford-united-preparing-clash-styles-play-off-final/ but the different approaches have got the two teams to the ...

Re: Playoffs

Taylor was clearly struggling, won nothing all game and rather than compete for the ball kept looking to spin round the defender so it didn't stick with him - usually he is really good a this. Our TikTok star didn't improve when he came on - Taylor at least may always pop up with a goal like in the...
