Re: Tiger

But I think we should always be sceptical until we have reason not to be. We’ve been burnt too many times before. Can we be sceptical but not negative about this? In recent years, having witnessed absurd levels of over-optimism amongst some fans at both Oxford City and Notts County, who insisted cr...

Re: Who do you want next?

Quote from Sol Campbell: "I'm confident and it's not like it's rocket science to run a football club, especially when you get to that level. If you're intelligent enough and a quick learner you will learn pretty soon, within two or three games, what the team needs, training-wise, to survive in that ...

Re: Argyle trial

There were times when Buckley-Ricketts showed his inexperience, running into a blind alley rather than passing or working little give and goes/gos?? But, in the first half in particular, he did get to the bye line on several occasions but Obika's awareness was so poor and his effort to get into the ...

Re: Who do you want next?

On Saturday, I heard from a mate who had heard from a mate (who is very much in the know) that Bellamy is 99.9% a done deal. My understanding too is that he is well thought-of in his current role at Cardiff - which fits in with what Eales has said in the past about the sort of person he wants to bri...

Re: Mousinho

I'm more worried about the Man City loanees. What do they contribute? Is the full back a specialist? Is the winger a winger? Just seen the goals from the Rotherham game. Smith-Brown gave their players far too much time and space for their first two goals, having come inside too far, and was turned ...

Re: Mousinho

When he first came into the team, i thought he looked much better than he does now. It cannot be laid at the door of having to cover for a weak/dodgy centre-back partner because his performances have gone downhill over a period of time with different partners, and too often they are individual error...

I note in one interview, Mr Campbell says that he realises to get into management he must 'start at the bottom'. Ugh. If this is really how he views our club, he can find another one - preferably at Sunday league level.
He is a footballer. Of course he is going to speak in cliches...

Re: Who do you want next?

Reading the recent message from Eales, it is clear we are doing the right thing (unlike FKs sweet shop approach). This involves interviewing several candidates, and he is clear that some will be met more than once. The main problem is the inability or unwillingness of the media generally to accept t...

Re: Who do you want next?

Whilst we've all been frothing at the mouth with speculation ( Lampard , Grayson , Unsworth , Bellamy ) Eales has finally broken in silence in today's Oxford Fail , saying he's in no great rush to appoint and that he's happy with Faz being in charge for the time being. That probably means an new ma...

Sean Rigg leaves Newport for Bath City. https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gloucestershire-footballer-signs-bath-city-1171288 or does he? this says he has become a tattoo artist. presumably this means quitting full time football. http://sport.bt.com/football/rigg-qui...

Re: Gone!

I take no pleasure in seeing players fail, but given that Xemi just did not deliver on the pitch, this is the news I have been hoping for ever since the news of Clotet's sacking broke. Since we have also had players from ManUre's old reserve team that did not make much of a mark either, making the B...

Re: that back pass

So imagine Tiendalli didn't make that back pass but instead hoofed it forward rather than skewing it back. Or - imagine we had defended the subsequent throw-in adequately. Why is it that quite so many 'individual defensive errors' are being made, so frequently? According to post-match interviews wi...
