Re: Retained list

Doesn't that still constitute a demotion for Chris Allen though? Gone from coaching the first team to coaching the kids. He came from the 'kids' as he was previously youth team coach. The status of the Under-23s is very different, seen (as I understand it) as a much more robust feeder system for th...

Re: Retained list

On a different line, KR has said he wants to shake up the coaching staff, but hopefully not see anyone leave. He has also said he wants to have someone specifically for the new Under-23s. So how about Chris Allen for that role? The absurdly low number of BME managers presumably reflects, at least i...

Re: Retained list

Eastwood is a good keeper - the best we've had for a good number of years. But then you'd expect that as we're playing at our highest level for a good number of years. I'm pleased he's signed on for longer. Having said that, I'm not surprised he wasn't snapped up by someone else. He had a real dip ...

Re: Rochdale

Did anybody else watch Mous' penalty and think 'Paul Moody'? Yup. Followed by "Pick that one out"! On RadOx after, KR said that he had taken penalties previously, and in pressure situations. Had I known that beforehand, I would not have been so concerned as he placed the ball...Judging by KRs body-...

Re: Going Down??

As a matter of interest, when was the last time we were involved in relegation worries this close to the end of the season and survived? It seems like quite a novel experience! Was it that Tranmere game in 92? Presumably the 2000/2001 season - where I think Cardiff collapsed in a heap and we just s...

Re: What constitutes acceptable?

One answer to the question in the thread title is 'not this'. This has been a quite extraordinary season, the details of which we shall never know - around the appointment and sacking of Clotet, the circumstances that led to Clotet's signings and how much he was or was not given for a transfer pot, ...

Re: Going Down??

I am going with being a tad frustrated about results elsewhere, rather than disappointed. We could never maintain the intensity of the opening few minutes for the whole game, but actually getting a goal in that period was massive. Eastwood also made some great saves - his form seemed to have dipped ...

Going Down??

0-0 at home to a team below us in the table, who had one and a half (IMHO) shouts for penalties, notwithstanding their inability to take the chances they created. Their No 29 ran rings around our identikit midfielders. Obika showed yet again his lack of footballing brain and inability to make pre-em...

Re: Karl Robinson

IFAB have come up with some crackpot ideas over the years, but their suggestion to have two 30-minute halves with the clock stopped every time the ball goes dead has my vote (were I on IFAB). That will not stop all problems, but it would certainly help.

Re: Who do you want next?

And Robinson can't possibly be described as having a 'wow factor'. Taking Tiger at his word, this is the thing that has thrown me. Robinson's odds are extremely short, and he is not a bad manager, but 'wow'? Robinson has reportedly offered to resign twice in the last week, but has been turned down ...

Is this Wow or WTF?

When he was at Notts County and got caught up in the Munto Finance debacle he was, IMHO, the only person to maintain his dignity and come out with his reputation intact.
