Re: Have we ever.....
He played well on Saturday - particularly in the first half when Accrington looked the more likely to score. Plus, he made a good save from a mis-shot in the second half when we were 2-0 up. "Tactical genius" stuff from Wilder after 50 minutes - took off Batt and replaced him with He...

Re: Press Conference...
It will be interesting to see - next season - how we get on against Mansfield, and if over the summer that club shed the OUFC alumni who got them up with such panache this season. It's an interesting statement from IL - logical, reflective and intelligent. Reading between the lines, I'd guess the 'p...

Re: Wilder out?
A one year rolling contract would imply though (presumably) that it has a start and end date? No matter - give him to the end of the season (based on the form we're showing now). P45 if the first team (with the 'talent') go on another miserable run. Obviously, I hope they don't.

Re: Wilder out?
I was a 'Wilder Out' then, and remain a 'Wilder Out' now. I've not seen Oxford 'live' since the Burton Albion game, though I did (somehow) sit through the Port Vale game on TV. So - with that caveat, the only good thing so far this season is that we've beaten sides near us or below us in the table, ...

Re: Wilder Out?
I started writing some thoughts on the game last night, but decided they were too knee-jerk and negative. We left after 80 minutes, which is a record watching Oxford (and that includes some of the away-game batterings we saw back in the late 1990s/early 2000s in the 'relegation years'). I thought - ...

Re: Yorkshire Terriers savage Oxford poodles
SWA: a young family, both of us working full-time, and weekends therefore tending to revolve around young children. Last season was the first one for me in twenty years without seeing a live game of any description. My eldest (six) is very probably going to attend his first match away at Burton, and...

Re: Yorkshire Terriers savage Oxford poodles
I agree with GY's comments - there was a more than a slight sense about things pre-kick off that it would not be our day. Dreadful howler for the first goal, a very poorly taken penalty by Smalley, dreadful piece of thinking (or not) by Raynes for their third. First time I've seen Oxford in the fles...

Re:
Mark Rawle at Cambridge (or was it Kidderminster? He scored late on at both in quickish succesion as I recall) His goal at Kidderminster was excellent - a curling shot from the edge of the box into the top corner. Seem to remember that they equalized, and then missed a penalty. The day is memorable ...

WM
Until United visit the East Midlands (and get close enough for a "day out" (Macclesfield)) they remain unseen this season by me. Please then forgive my likely ignorance. When Oxford played Burton last season (FAC1), it looked like Wilder was experimenting with a 'WM' formation - one ...

Watched it with the usual combination of interest and detachment which these exposes of football 'business' tend to throw up. Boasty Thai businessman, washed up ex-manager and a bloke from the FL who admitted that they had no idea who really owned most clubs in the Championship..... Plus, Barnsley T...
Re:
I understand the feelings against MK Dons but I think it's a bit much to hope they go out of business. They obviously have fans who go home and away. We should all be able to appreciate what level of commitment that involves. Further, there must be youngsters who are now growing up having only supp...
