But of course Atkins could afford to work for 35k because of his 'supplementary' income from 'football related matters'.

He could have appointed managers with a proven track record, rather than those offering to work for next to nothing, but he chose not to. This is the only bit I really disagree with. As someone who openly disagreed with almost every managerial appointment he made, I think he went with track record ...

Re:

Thanks for correcting me on Wilsterman AbOx. I agree with your points about where it went wrong. GY, you have a strange intrepretation of the word cheap. I believe the McGuckin story was that the managerof the time hurried Kassam into signing him without a medical because otherwise he would be snap...

I think if you look back at the first period Mooro refers to GY (Manor) your assumptions are completely incorrect. Money invested in Fear, Anthrobus, Arendse, McGuckin, Thompson, Wilderbeest, Quinn, Scott etc (so many I can't remember them all) you can see that during two periods, Shotton and Kinnea...

Issac. I can't see anyone saying 'don't say nasty things about him', perhaps you are imagining that or just caught up in other peoples hype. I note Mr Guest doesn't want to add a handle to his posts. That is his choice, but I feel it slightly undermines his digs. It is interesting that the folks I kn...

I post on two similar boards on other subjects and you have to register to post, but once registered you can be auto logged in if you wish.

I would always prefer to keep it open but I don't have to delete the spam.

Stop being so bloody democratic and mark a snap decision Boris.

Re:

I find it amazing that a man who has been ultimately responsible for the club going down three divisions and out of the league can recieve any support whatsoever. I'm struggling to think of other businesses where the owner would get exonerated for persistent failure, baffling mangerial decisions an...

Very interesting

I read that the Supporters trust that owns York City has decided to sell a majority shareholding to a private individual.

I have heard the same story as Mally. But we were sat in the Pub together at the time. I also had it independently supported elsewhere. Still I have to say I appear to have been wrong on my London Irish gambit. Certainly no sign of movement there. Back to Mr Lenaghan. Perhaps he didn't think that RL...

This will get things going. Issac, as someone who has met Kassam more times than I have met most of my cousins in the last 8 years, I have to say that I certainly don't find him 'unpleasant'. He is a man of conviction, who will never believe that he didn't do things properly for the club. Simply his...

In fact I believe B&ampB were appointed after Merry and co had announced that the deal was off.

My advice, be careful when playing poker with Cool Hand Firoz.

I believe that the signing of the cinema deal with Vue was a major turning point in Kassam's perspective of needing to be around! Only then did the financial return on his investment become assured. He now has his three key tennants signed up on long term leases, the health club will probably be nex...

Makes a change for it not to be me  I have to say that if I was told a company had 2 employees, 100 odd K turnover and was listed as high risk by Dunn and Bradstreet, then I would be looking for wealth generation elsewhere. I cannot understand the Lenaghan situation. He was prominant at the tak...
