Genuine question - what would the rules be wrt Didcot or Bicester for OUFC - would this be allowed under the current regulations?
I bloody hope not!

Re: Stadium (again) - fans forum

Abingdon would be a truly shit place for a ground. No train, awful traffic on the A34 and very much its own town rather than part of Oxford. Kidlington I could live with, assuming it was at the south end near the railway line. But the more I think about it, there are very few likely sites in and aro...

One thing I really...

Re: OUFC's weirdest ever tweet

Though in a couple of weeks we may get another tweet congratulating the official results of the Indonesian elections, where Bakrie was part of the winning campaign team? I thought that was Thohir. Or were they both involved? Anyway, I for one welcome our new Far Eastern overlords! In fact, I think ...

Re: Resumé

I imagine this next week will be about who stays and who goes. It would be nice to think that squad matters can start to become clear sooner rather than later, but recent history tells us that we'll probably be scrabbling around for strikers, waiting on out of contract players to make up their mind...

Re: You're winding me up!

Jesus - I've just remembered that I was at Hayes and Yeading too and we lost. Did Steve Basham get sent off? I think it was worse than that! Didn't he score against us? TWICE! Yeah Basham was playing (and scoring) for Hayes by then. Someone was sent off - Matt Green maybe? It was the second time th...

Re: Chris Wilder

It was Nick Merry, not Ian Lenagan that saddled us with the stadium license. Well ok, Lenagan (as owner) allowed Merry (as Chairman) to saddle Us with a bad agreement. And when Eales took over, Lenagan stayed on the board precisely to sort out the stadium situation. Didn't he do well! But that's al...

Re: Chris Wilder

Given the situation we were in, why was he (IIRC) offered a one year rolling contract? I'm pretty sure you don't recall correctly. If I rcc, Wilder had been on a rolling contract, but Lenagan gave him a 1-year fixed contract at the beginning of his last season with Us instead. I pointed out at the ...

Re: You're winding me up!

I'd be surprised if Tiger makes a quick buck. Unlike Eales, he hasn't transformed Us into a saleable commodity or even got Us promoted. Indeed he (or whoever his money man is) seems to have lost a fair bit of money thus far and barely kept Us ticking over, what with all the winding-up stuff going on...

Re: 10 is the magic number

And KY - if you want to see a reply you can just rewind the stream - it helpfully puts a little goal or red card icon for the incidents of note, Ah cheers, I should have tried that - I was reluctant to fiddle with the controls in case I somehow lost the stream! Nelson was very casual for the first ...

10 is the magic number

Can we get a player sent off every game? It seems to help no end! What a remarkable run of form we're on. Almost the exact opposite of the first dozen or so games of the season. Six weeks ago I would never have believed that we would have cemented a top-half finish by Easter. In fact I had us about ...

Re: Safety in numbers

The bigger question is what on earth is Tiger's plan for the club? I'm not even sure it's Tiger's plans that are important, as I don't think he has the cash to sustain us. Is he scraping his piggybank every month to pay the bills (late)? Are the other directors being made to put their hands in thei...

Safety in numbers

Well 52 points has removed any lingering doubts about relegation. Unless we go into administration before the end of the season of course! I can't help wondering how different the table would look had we conceded that 93rd minute chance at home to Bradford, and not enjoyed the momentum of that match...
