Re: Don & Dusted

On the non-award of the penalty, my instant reaction was that it was a penalty but that the ref would not give it - because he was poorly placed with a line of what looked like four or five players between him and Shodipo. I was waiting for the 'Referee's Assistant' to flag for it. More fool me. Wh...

Don & Dusted

So the winning run, and the longer unbeaten run, come to an end. I took a lot of positives from Saturday's game though. We're playing with much more confidence than earlier in the season, which you'd expect after our recent form, and we're looking to move the ball forwards much more quickly than we ...

Re: NINE (count 'em) in a row

I mean if you start a run when so far down in the league, you have to beat teams above you. When we started the run, more than half the teams we have beaten in the league were above us. That shows we should have no fear going forward. Let’s not forget that we went into November (November!) bottom (...

Re: NINE (count 'em) in a row

Genuine question - should these trophy matches count towards records? I thought after the introduction of B teams they were downgraded from being first team competitive fixtures for some technical reason. Can anyone shed any light? I didn’t watch the game and have no idea who is still left in the co...

Re: January window

The best part of yesterday is not losing any of our best players. With Grayson and McNally coming in, I was worried we might lose Atkinson or Moore. Isn't it too late for McNally to go out on loan now? Surely that's what yesterday's deadline was about, judging by the nature of our business. A word o...

Re: January window

Cameron Brannagan, imo, is a better player than either Ledson or Rothwell were when they got picked up by Championship clubs, and they have both been regular starters since their moves. CamBran isn't quite performing at his best at the moment thanks to his recent serious health scare. Are Millwall g...

January window

So we've belatedly heaved open the transfer window. A bit surprised by Obita's departure, but not all that gutted - I thought he'd be an integral part of our team when we brought him in, but he's been little more than a bit part player. McNally continues our trend of signing promising young centre b...

Re: 7 in a row

A hard one to analyse, but lots of fun. We were pretty poor defensively, much of which stemmed from the midfield as usual. Hanson looked ok on the ball, but never seemed to be in the right place to pick up any loose balls, and Rochdale moved it around us quickly and effectively. Long completely miss...

Re: Gas Meeters

How are we still only 11th after winning five games in a row in the league? Something to do with our awful start to the season I imagine. We've really hit some form now though. Saturday was another where it wasn't too stressful to watch, unusually. That's not to say Rovers didn't have chances, but ...

Re: Ox Files

The Oxford Chelsea goals including Rosie’s goal must be on tape somewhere. Football Focus? Match of the Day? I’ve checked my collection and whilst I’ve got some 80s tapes, I don’t have that one unfortunately. That was the season of the TV blackout. No televised league or FA Cup games, or even Match...

Re: 14 in 4

A great performance in tricky conditions. The quality of our goals was really impressive given the pitch and weather. Nice to see Henry start to influence games again too. Having said that, from 2 minutes in it looked like a cup tie against non-league opposition - the gulf in class between the teams...

Re: Jack - he's behind you

A penalty is awarded for any foul in the penalty area. I think you’re right that you can’t be sent off these days if a penalty is awarded if you were trying to play the ball (even if dogso) - I’m not sure what that’s got to do with this case though. There’s certainly no obligation for the ref to sho...

Re: Jack - he's behind you

agree with all of this. ooi- what’s the scoop on Long? was he, or was he not, booked twice last night?! Can’t find any one commenting on this. No. He was given a warning in the first half (no-one was booked, though the RadOx commentators thought Moore had been). Moore was booked for dissent at the ...

Re: Jack - he's behind you

The grandstand at Home Park fully re-opened almost exactly a year ago (I was there to see their top of the table clash against Sw*nd*n last New Year's Day, which I think was the second game played in front of it). I'm not quite sure why, with only 2,000 fans in attendance last night, some were made ...
