Re: play-off run in

Tuesday was gutting, wasn't it. Lincoln didn't look that great, but they did a job on us. Tomorrow night is massive now if we're to regain the momentum that we want to have going into the playoffs. P*sses me off that I can't get an audio pass to listen to the commentaries for these games. I can't ju...

Not that we've had strange sponsors in the past The cartoon character pilates enthusiasts "Animalates". The tyre fitters "Black and Rounds" The allegedly "picked by monkeys" coconut water "Chaokoh". I guess the difference is that if you bought a tin of Chaoko...

Cryptobollocks

Been quiet on here, recently, hasn’t it? I see that today we’ve signed up to allow some nefarious NFT / crypto nonsense company to advertise on our sleeves . There’s a very good thread here by the excellent Martin Calladine about it all; his book about football clubs’ unquestioning promotion of cryp...

Re: Give Us A (Stratfield) Brake

Delighted to see from the latest update that 25% of the new stadium will be safe standing, that's excellent news and highly increases the chances of re-establishing atmosphere at Oxford games that has sadly been missing since The Manor. One piece of good news in a week where OxVox have delivered an ...

What an absolute barrel of bollocks. Apart from a 20min spell at the start of the second half, when we were already 2-0 down, there was no plan, no direction, no guile and no chance of any points. Bristol Rovers knew how to defend, we didn't. They had a pair of centre-halves who used their bodies to...

Re: outcobbled, a short canvas, rammed, and not addicked

The Triangle planning application was supposed to be put in November. Now I don't think there was a deadline to say it had to be in, but what's holding it up? We've already seen the original international stadium architects for Stratfield Brake replaced with a smaller UK based company. Are our owne...

Oh, Biscuits

Two points dropped against a club in complete turmoil. We've lost all momentum now. Very hard to see us regaining it this side of the transfer window, by which point we're likely going to need to readjust expectations so we're aiming for playoffs rather than automatics. That's still an obvious impro...

Re: Painful Posh Pummelling

Couldn’t believe how BAD the goals were that we conceded when I watched the highlights. I sincerely hope I’m wrong, but my early impression is that Buckingham is full of sh*t. His interviews are like the world’s most tedious management consultant working their way through a PowerPoint of buzzwords. ...

Re: Liam Managing

I'm fairly sanguine about it all. He got offered a lot more money to move to a bigger club, I don't blame him for going even if I'd have much preferred him to have seen this season out. I do think though that there ought to be a transfer window for managers as well as players. You can sack a manager...

Re: Wycombe

I think referees aren’t helped by all the new rulings. Back in the day when the rule was “handball has to be intentional, and very rarely is”, we all knew where we stood and you wouldn’t get pens given like on Saturday where the defender clearly hasn’t sought to gain any advantage. Sadly, once again...

Re: Leigh-thal

I get the impression Liam Manning might be the dullest man to sit next to at a dinner party on earth, but after the hot-headed, knee-jerk, 'get me on Sky Sports News at all costs' nonsense of the previous few years, this comes as a blessed relief. Probably to the players too. Amen to that. We've al...

Sorry, crossed wires - I thought it was a reference to what OUR supporters' trust has in the bank!

Re: Grecian ten thousand (and twenty two)

Colin's analysis in the fans view on the main RageOnline page says the supporters trust has nearly £1M in the bank, which seems an extraordinary amount of money to have saved up. But equally is a drop in the ocean if the Trust ever wanted to have a meaningful involvement in the running of the club....

Re: Give Us A (Stratfield) Brake

In as far as I could hear the discussion it was argued that (a) it would be easier to enforce covenants if it were a lease not freehold and (b) there was an argument that it protected the club from a separation of the club and the ground owner. It caused a lengthy and slightly worrying delay while ...

Re: Give Us A (Stratfield) Brake

Not sure of the answer to that, Bob, but I have a related question - does anyone know why this is a lease of the land and not (as I had thought was going to be the case) the sale of the land?
