Re: Bolton

Jimski, I think we'd all agree with those sentiments. The difficulty though is that Bury in particular may be simply unable to complete (or, technically, commence) their season whilst Bolton will be doing so with one arm tied behind their back, and it then falls to the Football League to deal with t...

Re: Bolton

The clear difficulty* here is how the authorities deal with the issue of a club going under mid-season given the unfairness that brings to the competition. One way could be to demand that, once all promotion / relegation issues are decided, each club has to put a set amount of money into an escrow a...

Re: George Thorne

I also noticed he has the same agent as KR... wasn’t it Kardiff Exile who recent wrote: “Call me old-fashioned, but I feel uneasy about our manager being represented by an agent who also represents an OUFC player (Dickie). That strikes me as a conflict of interest.” Sounds like he knows what he's t...

Re: Oxford Utd has a Number NINE !

Excellent news. If him and Agyei can form a decent partnership, and we still have Mackie to come off the bench when needed, that's a very tidy forward line. I still think we lack sufficient strength in depth defensively to mount a sustained challenge for the playoffs, but we really ought to be finis...

Re: Ticket Master.....Hopeless!

That's very poor. I do know the club had an issue with the new membership system which has not been resolved by Ticketmaster. Basically, if you want to book an Adult and Child seat next to each other online in the Family Stand, you can - but you can't do it with an Adult Member and an Ox4Life Child ...

Re: Training Ground tour

...ideas for building a small stand so that U23 matches can be spectated (if that is even a word!) Great idea. Presumably the women's team could then play there too, thus saving us having to pay (presumably) for them to play games at Court Place Farm. They could even structure fixtures so that peop...

Peter-blimey!

Well, I think we can all be delighted by that performance and result against a side who most of us expect to be promotion challengers (but on that showing may fall some way short). I expected us to be better in the second half with the wind behind us, but weirdly both sides played better when attack...

Re: Training Ground tour

Interesting reading, OY, and lots of encouraging stuff there. I think it’s been obvious to most fans who’ve been paying attention that this has been a steady direction of travel over the past 10+ years since Ian Lenaghan first started investing in sports science at the club. What we have now is clea...

Re: RadOx phone in

Bob - I think I agree with all of that! You're absolutely right that the model we have is on paper a very sensible and sustainable one, and it's vital that everyone at the club from the Chairman to the tea lady are signed up to it. My only quibble (which I hope I expressed clearly above) is that for...

Where will we finish 2019/20?

Usual caveats - still a few days (and hopefully signings) to go, lots of variables - but where do people think we'll finish this season ? I'm going to say 19th . The squad has improved in recent days but is weaker and thinner than last season. I still can't see from where the goals will come, and we...

Re: Summer transfers 2019

So I’ll say it if no-one else will. Welcome Elliott Moore. Thank goodness we have another centre back. Not sure we needed another winger but Anthony Forde looks like a solid addition to the squad. One more striker or is that it? Moore looks like an excellent signing. Just what was required. We stil...

Re: RadOx phone in

I've just listened to it. RR is certainly correct that lots of people talked a good game on there. I don't doubt KR's passion and enthusiasm, and I don't doubt that Zaki Nuseibah is a shrewd businessman. But if I was a cynical person (and I am), I'd say the following: For all the enthusiasm of our m...

Speculation mounts about our interest in Wales international Ben Woodburn, but frankly if he signs for Oxford United then I'd be astonished.

Re: Why?te

Well, he hasn’t gone yet, and we don’t know the fee. But looks like he’s going I understand the deal was done yesterday, but this is not from an official source. Now confirmed . Those of us living in Cardiff will look forward to seeing him splashed on the front page of the South Wales Echo, gentlem...
