Dip?

Surprised at the lack of comment/analysis at what looks on the face of it to be a dip in current form. Are people worried, or is this just a blip? I've not seen enough of us over the last few months to make an informed judgement either way, but pretty clearly the next month or so is critical to the ...

Re: WEMBLEY 2016

So, we'll be playing t'Barnsley . That'll probably make for a better day - they've requested a 25,000 allocation (to our 40,000) and they'll make a good noise. I love it that some of our fans are fretting about getting a ticket! Good to see that the prices aren't too extortionate; the cheapest seats...

Re: Transfer news

Wouldn't surprise me if Danny Rose returned for another spell at Newport County, where I have no doubt he'll do well. As for Hoban, if he can get the goals I am sure he'll get another go at Oxford. He's young, it was a big step up but he's clearly got some raw ability and just needs to get some game...

Re: Where are they now?

Former defender perennial injury sufferer Michael Corcoran ordered to carry out 220 hours unpaid work and pay £1,085 in fines and costs following an incident where he racially abused a woman in a kebab shop after drinking a gallon of beer. Hi solicitor claimed in mitigation that the semi-professiona...

Re: Where are they now?

Newport County unlikely to be troubling the back of the net any time soon after announcing the signing of Deane Smaley on loan.

Re: A home defeat

I can only assume Danny Hylton must've run over Appleton's dog or something. I'm all for resting players occasionally, but this is getting silly now. Will he ever start a game for us again‽ Not a surprise to see us lose. In some ways, maybe over the two games against Roverzzz things evened themselve...

Re: Sheep Shaggers

So, Newport or Blackburn in the next round. For those of you interested, their rearranged game is next Monday night on S4C. God knows what'll happen if - as is entirely possible - it gets called off again because of Newport's pudding of a pitch.

Re: Swansea in the cup

The game will be broadcast live on BBC Wales with a 12PM kick off time on Sunday 10th January 2016. Unsure what sort of TV revenue we would receive. Excellent for those of us living the right side of the border! Does a home tie against Premier League opposition not make you want to make the trip fr...

Re: FGR at home

I have to say that 'home to Eastleigh' would be very, very low down on my wishlist of FA Cup 3rd Round draws! On the other hand, a 'more straightforward' draw means a greater chance of picking up the prize money for winning a 3rd round tie and, barring a multitude of upsets, a greater chance of dra...

Re: One is enough

Well, I didn't go yesterday. I had planned to attend that fixture, but as soon as I saw it was going to be a 'Military Day', I made other plans. The club are within their rights to support whatever campaigns they wish, but they have to accept that they will alienate some supporters in doing so. I kn...

Re: York City and Acc. Stanley

A quick match report from me whilst sitting at Strensham services on the way home! A terrific result against a decent side. Not the best team we'll play this season by any means, but strong and well-organised with a giant in goal and a few tricky players (including Windass Jr, who I thought looked d...

Re: Managerial Merry-go-round

Newport County have this afternoon sacked manager Terry Butcher. Crikey, that didn't take them long - the new Supporter's Trust only took over today. Has to be the right move though - I saw their 0-3 home gubbing to York and they were dreadful. Really? Newport already have precious little budget an...

Re: Penalty takers

I recall Moods missing a late penalty at home to Shrewsbury in about Nov.1994 at the London Road End - he took a long run up but he did not hit the ball properly and the keeper made an easy save and the game ended 1-1. Almost, but not quite. It was 29th October 1994, he missed and it finished 0-0 ....
