Oxford have signed, on a non-contract basis, Christopher James Lambert who used to play for Reading. The diminutive 5'7″ winger was Reading's Young Player of the Year in 1996/97 but has fallen out of favour with the management at Madjeski. Presumably this means that United are now less likely to offer terms to Chrissy Allen. Lambert goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's game versus Oldham, replacing Mickey Lewis presumably.
Apparently the Oxford Preservation Trust (a local NIMBY organisation) have come out against the Minchery multiplex, preferring the ABC scheme to convert the George Street cinema, so it seems a bit odd that they're supporting Pentith, who wants to develop Oxpens and is opposed to ABC. A mysterious petition, supposedly signed by residents of Blackbird Leys, has also appeared although local residents say they know nowt about it. The petition claims that there wasn't enough consultation, so they obviously missed the half dozen or so public meetings, the telephone poll, the discussions in the local media…
