Came up through the ranks, winning the Young Player of the Year award for 2006/07. Started as a centre-back in the youth team, but played at right back when moving up to the first team. Showed a maturity beyond his years in his first season, but after the arrival of Chris Wilder he found opportunities increasingly rare, and he had his contract cancelled by mutual consent at the end of February 2009.
