Benjamin David Weedon, born in Kidlington, was a victim of the Rage Online player sponsorship curse. We sponsored young Ben in 2005/06, and then renewed the deal for the following season. Needless to say, his first-team opportunities were limited, and his progress was hampered when he suffered a cruciate ligament injury that ruled him out for most of the 06/07 season. The club offered Weedon a three-month contract, later extended to six months, at the start of the following season to give him the opportunity to earn a longer-term deal. Unfortunately, he failed to stake his claim, and he was released at the end of the 2007/08 season.
