Signed on non-contract terms at the start of the 2005/06 season from Yeading, after impressing during United's pre-season friendlies campaign. Hughes, born in Wallington, had only been at Yeading a few weeks, having played for Farnborough the previous season, and it was while playing against United for the Ding that Hughes first came to United's notice. He was released by the club in November 2005.
