William Lee Turley, born Wolverhampton, goalkeeper joined United at the start of 2005-06, the first signing of Brian Talbot, his former manager at Rushden & Diamonds. He immediately displaced former Player of the Season Chris Tardif as first-choice keeper, despite concerns about his occasional errors. This was his first job back in football after he served an 18-month suspension for cocaine use. He was offered a new contract at the start of the 2006-07 season, which he signed despite offers from a couple of league clubs, and he then signed a further extension, until 2010, in January 2008. His hero is Elvis Presley, but he left the building at the end of the 2009-10 season.
