Courtney Leon Pitt, born in Westminster, was Graham Rix`s first signing, and his least successful too, probably. Pitt featured at the end of the 2003/04 season, coming in from Portsmouth with a reputation as an exciting left winger. Unfortunately, this proved to be something of an exaggeration, and Pitt failed to shine, or to help United`s attempts to stay in the play-off zone. Pitt`s form at Oxford was no aberration, as he also failed to do anything of note at his later clubs, including Boston United and Cambridge United.
