Earl Mark Stein was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He arrived from QPR as part of the deal that took David Bardsley to Loftus Road. Stein was a diminutive South African striker who started his career at Luton, alongside his brother Brian. He failed to set alight the Manor, and there was little concern when he moved to Stoke. England Youth international. After hanging up his boots he became a physiotherapist, plying his trade at Barnet and then Crawley.
