Joey Beauchamp

Joseph Daniel Beauchamp, born in Oxford, was the Rage Online Player of the 90s, as voted for by users of this website. The winger, who was born in Oxford and played for Summertown Stars as a youth, was signed by Oxford as a YTS trainee in 1987. He is currently 10th in the Oxford appearances table, and fifth in the all-time Oxford goalscoring chart.

Having made an impact in the Second Division, Joey was bought by West Ham United for £1,000,000 after the end of the 1993-94 season. However, Joey failed to settle at Upton Park, having just bought a house in Oxford and being told, wrongly, that Westam were happy for him to live here, and he was sold to Swindon Town for £850,000 just six weeks later, having played just one game for the Hammers: a friendly at Oxford City.
