Living legends

United made history today by becoming the first team (along with Nottingham Forest of course) to make it through to the FA Cup fourth round draw whilst still in December. This was thanks to a superb second half strike by Paul Powell to earn a 1-1 draw at the City Ground. Forest took the lead towards the end of the first half through Dougie Freedman. United's starting line-up reverted to the same side which began against Stoke, although twenty minutes into the second half a double substitution saw Jamie Cook replace Steve Anthrobus and Powell coming on for Rob Folland. After the equaliser Peter Fear replaced Ross Weatherstone. Read the match report if you want.
The replay will take place on Tuesday 21st December, by which time we should know who we might be up against in the next round as the draw is on Sunday 12th. Meanwhile the draw for the second round of the AWS is live on Sky's Soccer AM tomorrow.

Another Pentith delay? What a surprise!

The day of the court hearing for Nick Pentith's judicial review was due to be decided today by the listings office, but predictably there has been another last minute delay. Pentith asked for a postponement as he wants the interrogatory and renewal applications to be heard simultaneously, whatever that means.

Yellow was the colour

Cambridge United's second goal as they beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in the FA Cup 3rd round was scored by Paul Wanless. Brighton's second in their 4-3 home defeat by Rochdale was scored by Danny Cullip.
