A dreadful United performance saw the U’s go down 2-1 at home to a not much better Gillingham …

A dreadful United performance saw the U's go down 2-1 at home to a not much better Gillingham side. Oxford's goal was scored by substitute Jamie Cook in the last minute, Gillingham's came from a Nicky Southall penalty, needlessly conceded by Jamie Lambert, and Emmanuel Omominyi. Cook came on for Lambert, Weatherstone replaced Lilley and McGowan came on for Powell. Peter Fear at long last made his Oxford league debut – bet he wished he hadn't. Read the match report if you want to feel suicidal.
Former U's scorers today included three Conference players – Dave Penney scored for Doncaster, Dave Leworthy was on the mark again for Kingstonian and Mark Druce (remember him) found the target for Kidderminster. In addition Nigel Jemson scored twice on his debut for Ayr United against Airdrie, the first one a penalty. Both ex-Oxford City players currently playing league football found the net too – Guy Whittingham for Pompey and Jermaine McSporran for Wycombe.
Rage Online finally hits the big time with a mention in today's match programme – Thanks!
